About

Our Mission

Burundi Hope has been working in partnership with national believers from the Community of Emmanuel Churches to further the Gospel through Biblically-based programs, education, and training since 2014. By providing access to God’s word, skill-building programs, and sustainable tools, we are empowering and enabling the Burundian nationals to take ownership and provide for themselves and their families. As a result, they are helping to disciple others to become Christ followers.

Why Burundi?

Burundi is rich in tradition and culture, but the nation is deeply tainted by pride and jealousy. Challenged or disabled individuals are not deemed productive members of society and are readily discarded. Their own families often see them as broken or damaged. Since the end of the civil war in 2005, many women were abandoned or widowed and left with the care of their families. Being the hands and feet of Jesus by helping them with their physical needs we can also meet their spiritual needs through sharing the message of the Gospel.
