Time Passes
It seems like I have just arrived and now I am ready to return home or as my friends here say “my first home”. This last week was filled with a kaleidoscope of activity. Many different events yet all interconnected through the threads of the Gospel. The Burundi Hope team spent time in planning a Children’s Crusade with the Sunday School Committee in the Maramvya community. The students from the deaf school will be sharing the Gospel with the children of the community.
We were able to spend time with the 32 Burundian women who are teaching the Women of Hope seminars. In January, they will begin teaching in 16 churches each month sharing the story of Rahab and the lessons we can learn from her life. It was joy to discuss the program and give ideas as we merged the aspects of our two cultures in our teaching strategies.
As as a result of a divine appointment, Isaac was able to connect a local organic farming business with the Agriculture Program at Kanura. After visiting the school the owners have decided to donate their services to improve the program after seeing how the school and its staff are committed to helping the students and wanting to give them a better quality of life.
So many other experiences this week showed me how God’s hand is working and how blessed I am to be working with the Burundian people. The challenges are always present but God continues to make a way through them. Please continue to pray for the people of this country.
I will be leaving for the airport soon and prayerfully arrive in the US Tuesday morning. I would appreciate prayers for smooth travel, safe arrival, and as always sleep during the flight. Thank you for your encouragement and support of the Lord’s work in Burundi.
