Fear not, little flock

Jesus’ words in Luke 12:32 remind me not to worry about the things of tomorrow. Often times worry keeps me from enjoying today. It robs me of the joy the Lord has given to me. I have seen joy the past few days and have asked the Lord to remove the distractions that have prevented me from seeing and hearing what He would have me to hear. Working in another country and navigating through cultural challenges can be draining. I also continue to learn to view our culture through the eyes of another country. I cannot say it is easy but as I wrote in my last update, nothing is too hard for the Lord. As I prepare to leave Burundi the end of the week I know that the Shepherd is guarding the little flock and I can fear not.

God Bless! Thank you for your faithfulness!

As you can see being in a Children’s Crusade brings out the child in all of us! It was a wonderful morning of sharing God’s love at Nyabugete Church.

Some days are busier than others! Talking with teachers at Kanura about field trips then walking a short ways to Gihanga Church to learn together about the Woman at the Well. Last stop, the Gihanga Sewing House to visit the women who are diligently working to provide for the widows and orphans in their church. It was a good day!

So thankful for God’s protection on Saturday afternoon. A strong rain and wind storm blew over the mountains with the end result of several large downed trees. One was blown across the power line to the house I stay in. Thankfully a larger tree at the back of the house withstood the powerful winds. Claudine was leaving the house trying to make it back to Hope House ahead of the rain when the tree fell at the end of the sidewalk. Needless to say she returned to wait out the storm. We all felt His protection that day.

Monday is a holiday here so I am getting a later start to the day. There is much left to be done and undoubtedly some things will not be accomplished. Pray my priority follows the Lord’s priority for these remaining few days. I know the weather is quite different at home and it will be an adjustment for me having spent 3 1/2 weeks in the warmth of Burundi. The Lord has blessed me with good people here who love to serve Him. I will seek to fear not as the Lord shepherd’s His flock. Prayers are appreciated has I leave here on Thursday prayerfully arriving in Washington DC on Friday. Imana Ni Nziza! God is Good!
