Let it shine!

This last week of March is a remembrance of the journey of Jesus during the week before His crucifixion. The culmination of that journey impacted the lives of all Christians past, present, and future. The ultimate sacrifice that assures those who choose to follow Him receive the gift of eternal life. Jesus willingly substituted himself for our sins. God willingly gave his son. There is no greater love. As Christ followers, we receive this gift freely and we need to share it freely with others so they too can join God’s kingdom. Burundi Hope Project is sharing the gospel in all the programs and projects they support. We share the light of God’s word with all we encounter in Burundi. To quote the words of this children’s song: “Hide it under a bushel? No! I‘m gonna let it shine, let it shine, let it shine!

Have a blessed Easter!

Students at Ephphatha had an opportunity to shine as they all participated at the end of the 2nd trimester celebration to share with their peers, teachers, and staff what they have accomplished through the Afternoon and Bible Programs. A great way to encourage and fellowship together!

Light is shining in a literal way at Ephphatha thanks to a partner ministry. The Family Church saw a need when the Burundi Hope team hosted them for a visit to the programs Burundi Hope was involved with. A Solar Power Project is well underway to provide much-needed power to the dorms, classrooms, and future construction. This has been a two-fold blessing! It not only brings solar power but will also reduce the bill for government-supplied electricity.

Goal Ball

Students at Kanura School for the Blind participated in a Goal Ball game. It is a 3 on 3 team sport designed for the visually impaired utilizing a ball similar to a soccer ball. The team won the tournament and brought the trophy home to the school. Another shining light!

First Quarter Ministry Focus Wrap Up

During the first 3 months of 2024 our funding efforts have been to support the Timothy Bible School and related evangelistic programs. As we wrap up the first quarter $6094 has been contributed with 3 days left to target these ministries. We will commit $5000 to Timothy Bible School and the remaining funds will be shared to provide Sunday School materials, Bibles and church roofing. Next quarter we will focus on Women’s Ministry and the opportunities we have to share the Gospel with the women in Burundi.
