Sing of the Goodness of God

This song has been going through my head for the past several weeks. Looking back at the beginning of my journey to serve in Burundi I have seen God’s goodness and faithfulness. This rings true in my personal life as well as my ministry life. God has been faithful to surround me with friends and family who have walked with me through the dark times and reminded me of His goodness. God has truly been faithful all my life even before I accepted His gift of salvation. The situations and circumstances He brought me through were carefully orchestrated to equip me for serving Him both in Burundi and in America. His mercy never fails me and it will not fail the people in Burundi.

Children and their teachers are all returning to school this week. Many families have been touched by God’s goodness through the Burundi Hope Project. I never get tired of seeing the joy of children and their families as they receive such a simple gift as a copy book. The children are arriving at school thankful for the “strong “ food, clean water, beds to sleep on and mosquito nets! They feel loved and cared for and are also being fed the truth of the Gospel so they can see the hope they have everyday.

Last month I shared the needs of the schools as we try to provide for the children at the two schools physically, emotionally and spiritually. Providing for the immediate needs goes hand in hand with providing opportunities for the schools to be sustainable and not need to depend on the outside support of others. Please pray for the Burundi Hope Program as we work in tandem with the schools and support them in building the road to sustainability. We will share updates in the coming months of how God is being faithful in those endeavors.

For now we are amazed at the outpouring of support for our very ambitious goal of $35000 before the end of 2024. As of now we have achieved 60% of our goal: $21171. Our prayer is our goal will be met by November 1. I will return to Burundi on November 7 and would love to be able to share the news that the Educational Programs as well as the Health and Nutritional Programs are covered for the 2024-25 school year!

God Bless!
